Séguret is one of 22 villages in the southern Rhône which is allowed to append its name to the Côtes du Rhône Villages appellation. Wines from these villages have been identified as higher quality wines which are more expressive of the region. This is an impressive, classic Séguret - about as good as Côtes du Rhône Villages gets! Explosive, plush and opulent, and layered with suggestions of exotic spices, cracked black pepper and vanilla. The tannins are ripe and the finish is long.
